Italy-based Baumann has launched a new range of ambulifts for passengers with reduced mobility (PRMs).
The patent-pending PaxLift series can carry six wheelchair-bound PRMs with assistants. The vehicle, and its hydraulic platform, is designed to be operated by the driver with joystick controls. For the comfort of passengers and assistants, a telescopic roof on the platform gives protection from sun and rain. A cooling and heating system enables PaxLift to function in temperatures ranging from -30°-50°C.
Wide-angle video cameras in the cabin enable the driver to monitor operations. The stepless platform is raised smoothly (at a standard 2 km/h) without the need for stabilisers or lateral movement at ground level.
